Privacy and Analytics

This site starts GA4, PostHog, and Microsoft Clarity on every page load.

I use those tools to understand which pages people read, how they found the site, and where the experience breaks. I do not use person-level visitor-identification software on this site. I do not use these analytics to identify visitors for outbound sales.

What the site records

Google Analytics 4: Measures page views, referral sources, approximate location, browser and device information, and session activity. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and ad-user-data signals are denied in this site's configuration. Google Privacy Policy.
PostHog: Measures page and product interactions so I can see what visitors use and where they stop. Person profiles are limited to identified users. Session recording is enabled to reconstruct visits and diagnose usability problems. PostHog Privacy Policy.
Microsoft Clarity: Measures clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, page layout, and session playback. Microsoft masks sensitive form content and makes recordings available to site administrators for a limited period. This site grants analytics storage only and denies advertising storage. What this site does not do

No person-level visitor de-anonymization.
No advertising or behavioral retargeting.
No analytics provider receives information you send through your email client.

Retention and deletion

Each provider retains information under its own settings and terms. Microsoft states that Clarity recordings are available to site administrators for up to 30 days. If you want me to delete analytics connected to an identifier you can provide, email jeff@jeffbrokaw.com. Some aggregated reporting cannot be connected back to one visitor.

Separate applications

This notice covers the public pages on jeffbrokaw.com. A separate application running on a subdomain may have its own data sources, account system, or analytics notice.
